OUR FORMULA 

Formulation

All Tantrum Scentrum formulations are unique recipes assessed by Cosmetic Safety Assessors accredited by the UK and EU. Our soap has non-drying formulae providing the joy of smooth, intense moisture for nourished skin. None of the glycerine is removed unlike mass-produced soap. Glycerine is a naturally occurring result of saponification (the process soap goes through when its curing) and as glycerine is a humectant (a substance that helps reduce the loss of skin moisture) you don’t have that dried palm sensation.  

Additives
Our natural additives all come from pure essential oils for aroma, herbs for infusions, seeds and micas as colourants and the occasional dried food item that might be used for its skin benefits or as decoration.

Free from
All Tantrum Scentrum products are free from palm oil, harmful chemicals, toxins, synthetic fragrances, preservatives and any bleaching agents. They’re most likely free of a lot of things you wouldn’t want on your body because, barring lye (sodium hydroxide - the agent that magically turns fats and water into soap) which disappears during saponification, just about everything else you’ll find in our soap is likely to be found in your kitchen food cupboard. 

THE BASE
Our unique soap base is carefully formulated by us, using a nourishing blend of plant based oils and butters, such as Olive, Shea, Cocoa, Coconut, Castor, Hemp and Jojoba. We also use Avocado oil and Sea Salt in our Shaving bars for their amazing skin benefits. Each oil adds different qualities to the products, making sure our soap bars have a rich, creamy lather, leaving your skin feeling clean, nourished and moisturised.

SUPERFATTING
All of our soaps are superfatted, which means there are 5-10% (18% in the shaving bars) extra oils added to the recipe that don't turn into soap. These excess oils will remain inside the product to add a smooth texture to the lather and more moisturising qualities to each bar. 

GLYCERINE - the elusive element in mass-manufactured soap
Sadly, this naturally occurring humectant (moisture attractor) is often being removed from commercial soap to extend its shelf life and to sell on for other uses maximising on product/sales. We want to make our bars super hydrating and absolutely non-drying. No more itchy dry hands and what the heck was the smell school soap left behind…bleah! 

ONLY NATURAL ADDITIVES
Our products are scented with pure essential oils and coloured with plants, seeds, petals, peels and micas. Yes, mica is natural. It’s naturally occurring pigment from rocks found all around the world - and that’s where the problem sometimes lies. We source our micas from suppliers who make sure modern slavery is not part of the deal.

NO NASTIES
Our products contain NO palm oil, NO harmful chemicals, NO synthetic fragrances, NO artificial colourants, NO bleaching agents, NO foaming agents, NO toxins, and NO preservatives.

COSMETIC SAFETY APPROVED
CPSRs (CosmeticProduct Safety Reports) are held for all our recipes, which means they have been safety assessed by a Safety Assessor qualified in toxicology, biochemistry, microbiology and product safety to ensure our formulas are silky and safe for use!

All our products are suitable for Vegans unless they contain beeswax.
